On May 9, 2009 a group of Peace Officers ( TX Wheels of Justice) will join the Police Unity Tour and ride their bicycles from New Jersey to Washington D.C. for the fifth year. The opening ceremony will be held in New Jersey, and the closing ceremony will be at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington D.C. At this ceremony they will greet the survivors and present the check. The event will take one week and cover approximately 300 miles.

The ride is the largest contributor to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, 4.4 million dollars to date.  The NLEOMF maintains the National Peace Officers Memorial Museum, researches old and new deaths, maintains the memorial in Washington D.C. , assists families of fallen officers, and  works toward preventing future peace officer’s deaths.  Help is needed to raise the necessary funds to participate in the tour and support the NLEOMF.
